Banda Dzeta

Banda Dzeta – a new and extraordinary collective on the Lithuanian musical scene. The folklore of a multitude of peoples and countries, arranged in a contemporary way, blend in their work.

The music played by Banda Dzeta is hard to categorize. The enormous brass section hints that Balkan music is the predominant influence. The instruments include the bass guitar, percussion,
drums, trumpet, trombone, tuba, and ukulele. “The works of the Banda Dzeta resemble the soundtrack of the films of Emir Kusturica.” Syncopated rhythms, a bass guitar à la Primus, and a powerful brass section make Banda Dzeta a
trailblazer, straight from Vilnius, in the development of Balkan music.

Ričardas Katkevičius – trumpet; Adas Meškėnas – trumpet; Andrius Pomorskis – trombone; Marius Kurgonas – tuba; Edvardas Kazakevičius – drums; Ilja Pikalov – big drum; Zbigniev Bartoševič – ukulele; Justinas Važnevičius – bass guitar
