Ben Zion David (Israel)

The combination of past and present is what makes art of filigree so unique and classic. Each jewel is composed of many small parts, focused on details, inspired by traditional Yemenite bridal jewellery, but also nature, ancient architecture, ethnic patterns, shades and colours of everyday life and personal emotions. All of these feelings,
views and movements develop into contemporary designs of jewellery, and materials used to make it (silvers, richly coloured, natural semiprecious stones). All of jewellery is handmade workmanship, unique peace of art.

Benzion David, who has his own workshop in Jaffa, will introduce us to the world of Yemenite art of filigree.
