Films   Information TAUBE FOUNDATION'S JEWISH HERITAGE TOURS THE OTHER EUROPEANS European project   Friends		Yiddish Language The Yiddish language workshops held at the Festival since 1999 are an intensive course in Yiddish for beginners where interested parties can acquaint themselves with the basics of grammar, vocabulary, and a large number of songs. What better way to teach the language that sounds like a melody? Nothing beats singing! Many of the workshop participants have continued learning the language. Some of them can already speak Yiddish and read Yiddish. For the workshop leaders, Dr. Przemysław Piekarski, Julia Makosz and Urszula Makosz, Yiddish is a way of discovering their roots and uncovering the beauty of “neshome”, the Jewish soul and the Jewish world, which will live as long as its language lives. back
